We Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

We

Rating: 5.0

We are born free from sorrows
We grew to marry our sorrows
In the expense of our happiness
The devil feasts on our souls
Commanding to purgatory
Where we burn within sinful fury
Bending preaching
To pick up fallen stars
Like widows next to their spouses' graves
Longing to hear one last sound of their voices

We grew to mingle with pain
Like traps set for warthogs
In innocence, life tasted good
But perished within the youth days
Maturity delivers many bending curves
Some like shadows so brutal
But victory lies on our palms
For we are drivers of our destinies
And responsible for their helms

We grew to meet the stars
And dance joyfully in full moon
Getting lost within the tunes
Reality waking us up from fantasy's dunes
Only to meet the rising sun
With balls of happiness and sadness in our courts
Stories getting old
Friends born enemies

Time and life waiting for no falling body
We fade within the two
And about us, stories are written
