New Colony Poem by Felix Otiende

New Colony

New Colony
It was the other day, we fought for freedom,
We wanted our own country and its heritage,
Our pride,
Africanism,

Now look, how civilization has took us captives,
We no longer value our heritage,
Singing and dancing to the new tone,
Be proud of our motherland,

How I miss love and sharing from a pure heart,
Eating from one bowl of soup,
Where are the beautiful memories?
That our forefathers fought for,

Why are we slaves to white ant's lifestyle?
Am not against civilization,
The way we carry ourselves is wanting,
I will and always be proud of my traditions,

Why do you treat your Kingsman as an outcast?
Paying him/her peanut doesn't give you authority over him/her,
With or without finance, we are the same,
United by color and heritage

Am against the black 'Wabeberu'
