New York City Street Rap - Poem by Slava Olchevski

From a position of girl that is crossing the street
I look like a guy who is gonna get hit
By a speeding car that ran a red light
With a police cruiser pursuing it tight

From a position of guy, behind the wheel
Who stole that f*ing automobile
I look like another piece of crap
That prevents him from finishing his gangster rap

From a position of the officer of NY City police
Who is bent on catching fleeting Chevy Caprice
I am just a casualty that may be hurt
Which he will mention in his police report

When I was very young and not too bright
My mother taught me in her own right
When you cross the street at the streetlight
First look left, then look right

And please, please, always beware
Of the speeding car as if out of nowhere

I did not heed that good advice
And was indeed hit almost twice
Since the fault was not mine, it was on them
I have gotten paid through insurance sham

Three times a charm, I am on a roll
And all I need - simulate a fall
I claim the brain damage and a broken spine
I don't have to work, I will be just fine.

Hey, I see my darling just across the street
She is a beauty in a size petite.
The light turned green, here I come
Then, something happened.

I am sorry, .. mom...
