Night Poem by Jude Uchella

Night

Outside in the dark I see nothing,
save the stars in the sky smiling.
The night breeze is tender on my skin,
to soothe me her hands are keen.

Many may have danced with death in the night,
and subscribed to themselves endless plight.
Innocent remains night on my lip,
under whose cover we find sleep.

Slander and resentment on night they lay,
for miscreants use this time to play.
Solely I think it bias and unfair,
for evil at any time can appear.

Like an infant night is calm,
like a damsel it flaunts its charm.
With its stars, moon and breeze,
I can close my eyes tonight with ease.
