Night Flight Poem by Renee Lewis

Night Flight

You walked in on darkness
I never saw you
But I always feel you near
And the room washes a glow
When you appear

Is it weakness that makes
My inside breathe on the outside
Or brings smiles to my eyes

How do you turn from an awaited day
Snatch back smiles that refuse to land
Return to the inside
Live through a memory gone

It's in the night flight
The gift of the night flight
Pieced together perfectly
Distinctly yours
In the darkness of a glow
A chance to return

How is expression released
When words are worn
How do you embrace
The depth of no rules

It's in the night flight
A night flight pieced together
Perfectly and distinctly yours
In the darkness of a glow
This is your chance to return
