I stand
Quietly
I watch
I see your mind wander
And understand
But it escapes you
Just as it feels tangible
You're miserable

Take a break from it all
It won't fall
Or come apart
It's always there
In a moments thought
Resting on your heart

For when you're steady
Feeling ready
It's the splash
That will stir
The singular
Most significant
Decision in you

So I think
I'll step away for now
Rest it on the sideline
Make it my by-line
Leave the show
To you

And when that ray
Becomes visible
I want you to know
It came from a strength
Summoned by you
But I reached out my hand
Just out of view

And I think
You were mistaken...
We're not alone
