Night Is Not My Friend Poem by Terry Dunham

Night Is Not My Friend

Night Is Not My Friend

I’m waiting for the dawn;
This night is long.
It’s robbed me of my song.
The promise is that soon
I’ll see a different scene.
These tears are wet with harm.
The healing waters flow to my soul
But healing takes so long.
Time - Time, come on!
Do your job and turn the day on.
Night is not my friend.
I want to laugh again.
