Night Of Pool. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Night Of Pool.

Rating: 5.0

So he came to collect me,
Sometime after nine and my parents were not weary.
They trust him deeply.

We drove around the island,
From one bar to the other him with keys in hand.

We were looking to play pool on a Saturday night.
All tables were occupied in sight.

So we drove to the place,
Oh it is a secret it was scarce.

No people.
Just us and a pool table.

When he hugged me tightly.
I almost said "I missed that" evidently.

It is scary how you may have feelings for a childhood friend.
Feelings you thought you couldn't comprehend.
