Night Song Of A Maiden In The Fields Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Night Song Of A Maiden In The Fields

Night Song of a Maiden in the Fields
Days, days remain
And ever day I pay a gain
To the night moon and stars
My masters lend me time
I know I shall die young
And forlorn weep in the court of galaxies
That oblivious judgments pass in immensity.
Ahi! Oblivion and Immensity
That reduce the Ego of our destinies.
Tonight I look at heaven stars
That I may in the least
Have in these counted days on such beauty looked
And thus the grim bitterness of all
This immensity of forgetful ness
Will I this time: space moment sooth and give.
One moment
One place
The All!
