Night Vision Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Night Vision

Night vision

Late at night, long drive, arriving, near house
Sleepy and tired, not sure of, what is what
Suddenly a vision, seeing a bright white
Strip on something very dark in black,
The whale in, darkest night of ocean
Polished boot, officer’s, marching
On dead corpses; the night grass.

The long white shined again
Head to tail scary; creature
Kept head low, its nose
Searched, smelled.

Sudden sound:
“See skunk.”

“And what if sprays? ”
