Nightmare Poem by Rachel Brewer

Nightmare

Walking through the dark alone is bad enough.
I don’t need you following me.
Who the hell are you anyway?
Why cant I see your face?
Am I having a nightmare or is this real?
Oh please God let it be a dream.
You walk like a human, you have arms and legs,
So why don’t you feel human?
Why, why wont you let me see your face?
Please stop following me.
The cold night is creeping with you,
Why couldn’t you have chosen someone else, why me?
I need you to leave me alone now,
This feels to surreal, to scary to be happening,
Even though I know its real,
You’re coming for me and there’s nothing I can do about it.
You will be the end of me.
On this cold, desperate night.
You are my nightmare,
And you have come for me tonight.
