There was a time when I could sleep,
An undisturbed tranquil repose.
Now when I close my eyes I keep,
Revisiting previous woes.
Broken segments of dreams haunt me,
Until the first rays of light hit.
The featureless faces taunt me,
Impatient for me to submit.
Startled I wake, covered in sweat,
For me, serene filled nights now rare.
In seconds I start to forget,
Yet I'll again have this nightmare.
