'Life Isn'T Fair...' Poem by Mal Sharp

'Life Isn'T Fair...'

Rating: 5.0

Life isn't fair, we all know this
A toss of the dice, hit or miss
A game that most will surely fail
A one way ticket straight to jail
A hungry man left on the streets
A battered girl whose hell repeats.

The suffering of all mankind
Is all around, yet we are blind
We deafen ourselves to their screams
We separate ourselves, pick teams.
We don't play nice, we don't unite
We just carry on with this fight.

No one will win, we all will lose
Surrender is not a word we use.
We are stubborn, we'll see this through
The bitter end coming to view
Only now are we asking why?
Why did we not just all defy.

The system was broke we all saw,
There was no need to start this war.

An insightful philosophical reflection written in verse with rhythmic splendour. A beautiful work of art. Thanks for sharing and do remain enriched.
