Nights Of Love Poem by Richmon Rey Jundis

Nights Of Love

Rating: 5.0

Lying on my warm bed
Beside the window at midnight,
I watched the full bloom of the moon
That shines on my wide-open eyes.
Cold wind from a distant breezy mountain
Whispers to me as the orchestra of the cicadas
Seems to sing someone's nostalgic name.
It is my first time being awake
Because someone keeps on running
Behind my crazy head.
No one has warned me
About the danger that this feeling
Can give me at night.

Time seems to fly slowly,
Yet, the agony of wanting to meet you
On my dreams covered with falsehoods and illusions
Keeps to persist,
Until I heard the alarming call of the roosters as the Sun slowly rises.
No one has warned me
That the danger of this feeling can last
Until the hopeful dawn.

I can be awake all night long,
If you persist to knock behind my heart,
or in my head, maybe, since I am too crazy for you.
I can watch you asleep beside me until the moon passed by
and let you tickle my ears with your sweet snores,
but please, next time, warn me of the dangers
before waking up my sleeping heart.
