No! Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

No!

Jagged cliffs
She travels like a cougar
Where is the pink blanket
Little girl lost in Central Park

Fantasy forges the split identity
Walls of silk
Lips that kiss ghost stories
Cold spots in her abode

Chloe pearls in the lions den
Streets where dreams limp like war
Pawn shops where masks grovel
Mannequins in the window

I knock on the door
The wind cries Mary is playing
She loves the wind at night
Moonlight in the mirror

Candles like the breath of a witch
rude red ruby fingernails
She asks me if I am a vampire
Her black eye shadow smiles

May I come in? She says NO
