Lock up the heart
to unlock the mind
scrape my weathered shoes
on the Unwelcome mat
as not to soil the white matter
with the dirt of a sullied past
only for my ragged hands
to break off
the rusted key.
I wish I knew what the poet means by this. Perhaps a Poet's Notes or more stanzas....... ? ;)

Hello! This poem represents the things that happen in life when we think with our hearts and not our heads. We must 'lock up' our heart sometimes in order to think clearly with our mind. Our heart makes us do stupid things sometimes. I hope this clears it up a bit!
