No Happy Endings Poem by Hannah Diane Williams

No Happy Endings

The ice is brutal.
It falls outside
Overlooking the peripheral paperback.
She combats the supernatural forces
Without a fear.
But she struggles to calm the terror
Underneath the dark hole
Overcoming her....
The dark abyss surronds her.
The hate around her won’t let her go.
Her heart is constrained with constant anxiety.
Her loneliness is more then she can bear.
Only the hopes powered in her sleep
Can take her to the places she wants to go.
She realizes life isn’t a fairytale,
But that doesn’t mean
There will be no happy endings.
