Two Years (Since You Broke My Heart) Poem by Hannah Diane Williams

Two Years (Since You Broke My Heart)

Rating: 5.0

It's been two years
Since you spoke to me last
Polite conversation doesn't mean
A damn thing
Because you don't talk to me
Like you used to

We were the best of friends,
I held you when you cried
And you let me stay at your place
When my roommate was just
Too much to handle.

You told me you'd always be there for me,
Or was that just a lie?

Maybe I said something harsh
(That I didn't mean) ,
But you have to understand,
My mind was a blur that year
And I don't remember most of it.

Maybe you thought I
Liked him like that,
But trust me, I never did.

It was always you I loved,
And maybe you figured that out
And quit talking to me.

I spent way too many nights crying over you.

So now it's time to move on.
I guess I just want to know
What you hate me
And why my broken heart even cares.
