No Joy For Them Poem by Ray Hansell

No Joy For Them

Once again it's Christmas
As festive times fill the air
People Christmas shopping
Moving about without care

People talking and laughing
Drinking their favorite lattes
Having themselves a good time
While misery lives not far away

For many Christmas is a celebration
A time for joy and cheer
But let's not forget the people
Surrounded by despair and fear

Not enough food to feed their young ones
Barely enough clothes to keep them warm
All the time their hearing
Those joyful Christmas songs

But the joy of Christmas
Is somehow lost on them
Hopefully one day this life
Will be one they can overcome
