No Longer Poem by Hopeless Heart

No Longer

Blood pours from the cuts
You love to leave so much,
What is this fascination you have
With my wrists?

It’s not only the blood that you seek,
You love to see me broke and torn
You love to see me lying on the floor
When you rip my heart out with your words,

Morning comes and you’re so sweet and caring,
You tend to my wounds without any guilt
As you hum my melodies to yourself,
This is the love and life we’ve built.

Never once have I wondered why I’m still here
I love you, that’s all I needed.
You would bring me flowers to show you care
And kiss me sweetly and whisper in my ear,

I though this was the best there was,
Well that’s you told me anyway,
That was until he came along
And showed me it was all wrong,

He took my hand and we ran away
We ran as far away as you could,
We didn’t have a map, didn’t know the way
I didn’t care I was finally free.

No longer did I have cuts and bruises,
No longer was I broken and torn,
No longer was I lying on the floor,
I was finally able to see your words as lies.

Now I stand upon this hill
Feeling the wind in my hair,
Seeing everything around me
And not having a single fear.
