No Other Relation Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

No other relation is sacred
Than “Mother and child”
You will find its mention in holy books
So please be it as it looks

Yes bother may turn eye
Sister may differently try
Father, may sometime, turn different
Mother shall remain same from past to present

Why has she such an attachment?
Why she never prefers to resent?
Even if deserted in the old age
When she needed it to manage?

No mother shall answer satisfactorily
She has only one answer readily
“He or she is my blood and dream”
She may repeat with happiness and claim

What is heaven to me if offered?
I have reason to be differed
Why even God preferred refuge in us?
If that was not the sole reason to trust

I shall pay regard and completely agree
Mother is like giant tree to provide shelter free
“Comfort to children and family” is only mission
I may bow my head completely in submission

For a moment I tried to think on negative side
Opinion stood more on positive aspect and very wide
She has held her ground since inception
Mother stands alone in race for exaltation
