No Relief Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

No Relief

No relief

No, I shall never forgive
And give
Credit for what I did
Even though he did not heed

I was beaten cruelly
This was repeated daily
I tolerated with patience
Thinking he may repent and give chance

Today he was at his worst
He picked stick and assaulted
With no mercy appearing in eyes
I pushed him toward wall

It was direct hit
His head was severely struck
Soon he was oozing blood
I did no good

He looked at me endlessly
As if asking for pardon lastly
I was dazed with disbelief
His death gave me only shock and no relief
