No Way! Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

No Way!

Humanity hums in a soft-lit glow,
Of screens that pulse wherever we go.
A tap, a swipe, a voice command,
Invisible strings guide heart and hand.

At work we click, at home we scroll,
Tiny machines now shape the whole.
From waking light to midnight's gleam,
We drift inside a coded dream.

Our watches speak, our speakers hear,
Our thoughts feel tracked, our choices steered.
Suggestions bloom before we think,
As if our minds and machines now link.

We traded ease for subtle ties,
Convenience wrapped in sleek disguise.
What once was done by will alone,
Now flows through circuits, glass, and tone.

Is it control, or just the cost
Of paths evolved and borders crossed?
A quiet shift, both vast and slow—
A tide too strong to overthrow.

"No way, " we say… yet still comply,
As algorithms multiply.
Not chains we feel, but threads we weave —
A web we built, and still believe.

No Way!
