Nobody Poem by Oluwagbemisola O. Lawal

Nobody

In the depths of my solitude, I pondered,
Seeking solace from a world that had me ensnared,
Yearning for a presence, a guiding light,
A person to fill the void, to make things right.

Yet as I ventured through life's winding trails,
I stumbled upon a truth that never fails,
The person I needed most was not another,
But the reflection staring back, my own truest brother.

For in the quiet moments, I came to see,
The strength and resilience residing within me,
A beacon of hope, a wellspring of might,
A force that could conquer the darkest night.

No longer reliant on external embrace,
I realized my worth, my inherent grace,
The power to heal, to rise above,
To find joy and peace, fueled by self-love.

I needed nobody to complete my soul,
For I was already whole, a masterpiece untold,
With every imperfection, every scar,
I discovered a beauty that had traveled far.

Embracing my flaws, I began to grow,
Unveiling the strength I never thought I'd know,
No longer seeking validation outside,
I found liberation in my own stride.

So, to the person I needed most, I say,
Thank you for teaching me along the way,
That I am enough, in every way,
No longer dependent, I'll pave my own way.

For in the depths of my solitude, I've found,
A love for myself that knows no bound,
I need nobody to define my worth,
For I am the author of my own rebirth.
