"Nobody" Is My Name Poem by desamangalam ramakrishnan

"Nobody" Is My Name

What am I to respond
when somebody calls me
"Hai, Nobody"

"Aren't you Nobody? "
listening to the question
so many people passed by
without answering.
They might have murmured in mind
"Not me, not me"
and at last remain myself to answer.

"Nobody" is my name
not called by father
not fondled by mother
and not whispered by a girl
who came in vacant mood
or looked in vain and disappeared.

But in my blue shadow
now and then reflected
a shade of two wings
dancing above my head.
Oh, endearing bird,
pecking on my head
have you called me:
"Hai, Nobody?
You are Nobody? "

Oh, my intimate pearls of blood
Oozed out of my head
you are nobody's blossoms
you are nobody's dreams.
