Nocturne Poem by Edwina Reizer

Nocturne

The nocturne of my dream is here.
I hear it in my sleep.
It's such a thing of beauty.
It makes me want to weep.

But no one cries when they are dreaming.
They wake up with dry eyes.
And the nocturne that's nocturnal
is gone as I arise.

Oh sweet nighttime melody
your memory fades away.
It's only for my sleepy nights,
not for the wake of day.
