Nomad Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Nomad

Rating: 5.0

In the wilderness a soul searching
Not knowing for what
Only the thirst driving forwards
A hunger that gnaws at the belly pit
Gripping tighter with every moment
Painful memories claws invisibly ripping and slashing
Tearing out the underbelly of contentment
Gained serenity vanishes into the mist
Insecurity laced with fear the replacement
Crying out in the wastes of indifference
Without an anchor to hold this nomad of time
A refugee from commitment
Needing a direction
Wanting that invisible anchor
Always with an unquenchable thirst
In the confusion of the mist a hand beckons
A heart drawn towards another
Trusting the hand of fate for direction
A meeting littered with trepidation
Calmed and besotted in the blink of an eye
These two hearts metamorphose in a rush of lust
Love follows the parallel course more sedately
Like seasons the heart is always changing
Growing through knowledge
Intimate in its grasp
Lustful lovers become real lovers
Protected in loves cocoon
No more searching
Fears dissipated
Implanted happiness’s contentment seed
