None Are Lost Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

None Are Lost

Darkness came and once again has passed the hour
A name I hear and it is mine
The ground so cool, it offers comfort
Above the ground now mine must rise

So much farther than this ever darkness
In days of pending hope all drift away
Still the breeze is warm in this dark surrounding
Now incredibly clear, I hear them call my name

Adrift in silence, past a gateway open
There is no fear as darkness slowly fades
Once again, there is a smell of flowers
The warmth of light upon this face

What life has given across the darkness
Long before this place once I came
All who were in time forgotten
No more sadness, They are free of pain

There within the glow of every morning
An unbeliever gazed upon each face
For they have called to keep an older promise
None are lost; They know our name
