Nonmagnetic Gold Poem by Saiom Shriver

Nonmagnetic Gold

Nonmagnetic are
nonferrous metals such as
platinum, silver,
copper, and gold,
as moneylovers'
hearts attract less
because of the cold.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Footnote:
Even most nonferrous metals
become magnetized near a magnet
but are not magnets themselves.
They are called paramagnetic,
as all beings respond on some
level to great love.

Thank you to a Mastic New York
muse for the chemistry instruction.
