Nonnie Poem by Denise Clark

Nonnie

Rating: 5.0

God knows I need you
To get well and come home
I miss your morning phone calls
For now I feel alone

I wish I could have done more
I've always tried my best
To come and help you out
So your body could get some rest

I sit by your picture
And read the Bible each night
Praying to Our Lord
To help you win this fight

You've been in my life
Just three wonderful years
I'm not ready to let you go
I'm not ready for the tears

Please know I love you
I hope you know I care
I need you to Get Well and come home
So more memories we can share

We Love You Nonnie
(I worte this in a handmade card when Nonniw was in the hospital, Nonnie never made it home)

Denise, This is heartbreaking and beautiful. Was she coherent enough to read it prior to her passing? I sure hope so. It's quite lovely. Shannon
