I'm in giggles at your example in the finish here, Vincey. Hilarious! ! ! On a serious note, though, I have to agree with your message here. Poets are, after all, mere human beings, many of which harbouring the vices and failings that typify our species. An entertaining but meaningful piece of writing. Warm regards, Gina.
All I can say to this poem of yours Vincent is, 'We all have our off days' but I would disagree on your premise that what you get in poetry is contrived, I believe you can read a poets heart though their work, and beautiful work can only come from a beautiful heart. What Gina says applies fully. We are all only human and every emotion should be allowed an expressive outlet in a poets lifes work. But that is just my opinion.
