Not As Alone As You Think Poem by Nathan Gorey

Not As Alone As You Think

Rating: 4.5

Just got a new job as the nightwatchman,
Very first job, gotta do the best that you can.
You try to remember the layout like the back of your hand,
The friendly animals appear to be in a band.
The first thing you notice is the stink,
What you don’t know is that you are
Not as alone as you think.

When you get to your office, snug and square,
You think, hey this isn’t fair.
Four dollars an hour, I should get a little more,
Wait until you see what is in store.
It is even worse in here, the stink,
That is when you realize you are
Not as alone as you think.

“Hey, what’s this, ” you say as the cameras turn on,
The phone guy said they like to roam before dawn.
Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Freddy,
You better hope that you are ready.
It creeps closer, that dreadful stink,
Now you know that you are
Not as alone as you think.

You sit in your office as you start to sweat,
It is your life that you bet.
Three more hours you have to wait,
To them, you are the bait.
It is the strongest it has been, that awful stink,
You see them now, and you know you are
Not as alone as you think.

You close the door the door to save your life
As they put on this endless strife.
Five A.M., one more hour to go,
Then the power goes out, 'Oh, no'.
There he is, in the door,
Soon your life will be no more.
He carries with him that awful stink,
No one will come to save you, and you realize
You are more alone than you think.
