Not Broken Poem by Dan Uriel

Not Broken

when you're thirsty, I'll give you an assistant
and I leave a few darkening tears inside
and if you feel that the taste is bitter
just to drink there is no sweeter juice
when your body freezes, my soul with you
I wrap two shoulders with velvet
and my trembling brain when you're hungry
you will never be in need of me
and if your tired body wants to rest
rest in my arms- there is no softer wooden bed
and because you will need protection one day
but don't be cruel to me
they will all remain yours
It does not call back a weak moment
