Not Every Friend Will Be A Real Friend Poem by Chris Stennett

Not Every Friend Will Be A Real Friend

Time and time again we are always warned
To be very careful who we befriend
For not everyone we meet can be easily trusted
Or will stay friends with you till the very end

Sure they'll be there to watch your back
They might even say: 'Our friendship is true'
But as time goes on you suddenly realize
That what they're really doing is using you

As you angrily confront them they'll come up with an excuse
Rather than commend you for figuring it out
Since deep down inside they know very well
That they've enjoyed what they did without a shadow of a doubt

You watch in delight as they get they're comeuppance
Once you have stepped into the light of dawn
With a very important lesson to be remembered forever
To never again be too trusting from now on
