Not Helpless Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Not Helpless

But not helpless

Nothing is at stake
That light keeps me awake
With no threat of darkness
I have smile on face

I have been brought up
To keep
Ongoing struggle
And move with people

I am not afraid
When people said
"She is helpless poor"
I heard it from next door

I felt pity
For their inferior quality
The darkness was to disappear soon
The sun was likely to shine more in noon

The spirit has kept me high
With spirit and in delight
I am human being
But not helpless people think

Not Helpless
