Not My Friend - Poem by Aswathi Asok

Skies were full of darkened and cloudy,
It was ready to shed the rain down
Suddenly bell rang to free the school
Glad in the freedom of school let out,
Today little bit early than other day
Ran to the road with laughter and shout
Quickly remembered about the umbrella
Yes, I forgot to brought it today
Cursed the moment I was not listen mother's word
"She told me to take umbrella at morning''
But I was not ready to take it.
All had an umbrella in their hand, but
Still rain was not fallen down.
Looked at each student- face by pity,
Hastened the children on their way,
Suddenly rain fell down and wet me
Opened all the children their umbrella
In the due course he came to me,
Shared his umbrella with me
I surprised to see his cute face
But, I know "he was not my friend''.
