Not One In Any Mood For Talk Poem by Francis Duggan

Not One In Any Mood For Talk

I met a fellow on the road today
As he passed by me to him hello i did say
But to my greeting he made no reply
Of talk of any sort he did seem shy.

Though the birds were singing in the bright sunlight
Perhaps today things for him not going right
And he was not in the mood to even say hello
To a passing stranger one he did not know?

He was not one in any mood for talk
Alone with his thoughts in silence he did walk
Perhaps he had a quarrel with his wife?
We all know of the ups and downs of life.

The birds were singing on the sunlit trees
And there was a pleasant coolness in the breeze
And the one that i had never met before
My greeting to him he choose to ignore.
