Not Political Poem by Randy McClave

Not Political

I never gave a politician a dollar
No matter how much them or their followers did holler,
Nothing politically originated have I ever bought
That type of politics I was better taught.
In my yard I have never placed a political sign
No matter how much a politician or their followers did whine,
Politics don't belong in my yard
So, any political sign notion I will quickly discard.
On my vehicle I never placed a political bumper sticker
Proclaiming I was supporting either him or her,
I like to be ignored
I'm a taxpayer and not a billboard.
For no politician did I ever scream or stood up to support
If they ever broke man or God's the laws in any court,
Though their messages are now subliminal
I will not ever vote for a coward or a criminal.
Don't tell me which party to support and how to vote
An Elephant or a Donkey or even maybe a Goat,
I never vote the party, I instead vote the person
That way their is less worries and cursin'.
If any politician is not a true God fearing Christian
Unto them or their requests I will not follow or listen,
And if they ignored the teachings that God did write and say
From them I will quickly turn about, and will vote another way..
