Not To Far To Go Poem by Bryan Taplits

Not To Far To Go

When I was young and short and ill
I recall the Big Boys always
monopolizing and playing,
Oh, how I wished those big guys I could assist -
but my flimsy muscles
balked at their obeying.
But now I am old-
a huckleberry no longer-
Still ill and my pallor
blanched and quite dull,
So, while I am still-
a lilliputian stacked
near to the ground
All those big guys-
they have much farther to fall.
