Nothing Lasts Forever Poem by Nigel Ndlovu Stephen

Nothing Lasts Forever

Rating: 4.5

Nothing lasts forever

You made me believe in instant messaging.
Replies in a flash as lightning,
In a split second you were typing.
Drumming fingers Impatiently waiting,
Like an idiot forever grinning.

Romeo and Juliette intimacy never ending,
Branded into my heart, your face un obliterated as that of the queen on a shilling.
Flying on cloud 10, with you aerophobia just a word in the dictionary.
Craving to be high, you were my weed.
Drunken to stupor, make me another one. whiskey, strawberry lips never needed to ask for another kiss.
Skipping guys night out, you the culprit.
Torn clothes, broken dinner plates anytime, anywhere crimes of passion committed.

'Nothing lasts forever my king '.
Indeed as its said in scorpion King.
Everyday the love is dwindling,
Once Sky spread out shining as a new linen, now depressed, creased fast wrinkling.
Miles away never felt the distance, wish l could say so again, clutching on the last threads still you're pulling away.

Calling your name no one is there, Replies taking a year.
getting harder everyday, l can't stand the pain.
9/11 l am crumbling to oblivion,
Where is the love, nothing but memories,
Where is the trust, insecurities a cancer in my heart,
Shredding into a zillion pieces, still l miss those kisses.
Where is my Juliette swallowed up by the southern riches.
'Nothing lasts forever my king' l hear the whispers.
