Nothing More To Lose Poem by Comfort Zone

Nothing More To Lose

When did I ever intend
A vicious power game?
When did I have malice
To make a single claim?

I watched in tearful vigilance
As friends turned foes;
Teaching me to distinguish
Between prickly pear and rose.

But I retraced to tell you
Behind an empty frame,
Our relationship has endured
Like an orphan with no name.

Despite intense emotions shared
You failed to decipher my core;
I’d lose with pleasure to let you win
Please maneuver me no more.

No rivalry, no malevolence,
No antagonism I choose;
With my alter-ego perished
I have nothing more to lose.
