I have been contemplating all day
Trying to figure out what I am going to say to you
And still nothing
I am just so confused
I feel like you say you want to be with me
But your actions show only half
You tell me your thoughts on other girls
How do you really expect me to react?
I think it is best that you and I not speak
Even though it is desperately killing me
Every time I see your call
I want to pick up
But something deep inside of me says “NO”
“You don’t want to fall deeper in love”
Something says “just turn off your phone”
“You both need to be on your own”
“He’s experiencing things in college so don’t stand in his way”
“Focus on what’s important right now”
“You’re trying to get to where he is someday”
“He’s already out of high school”
“Now it’s all on you”
“No hi”
“No bye”
“No what’s up”
“Just give up on love”
“You have to be tough”
I don’t know where this voice is coming from
But I’m going to listen to it
NOW I am officially done
