Now That I Go On (For My Aunt Gracie) Poem by Eddie Rodgers

Now That I Go On (For My Aunt Gracie)

Now that I go on and theres nothing left, not a single site not even a breath this nothing after all these years is what's left. i wonder what will be the tale of this life of mine, will people even remember how my smile always seemed to shine. I leave now what is old to go to a place thats not so cold, to a place grand and enchanted in the sky, because thats where they say you go when you pass on and die. Miles away to a king on his throne, there upon the clouds is where ill have my new home. This place is where ill rest my mind until God's fair ending of all time. Now dont be mistaken I am not at all mad that I had to go just a little sad that I didnt seem to know, but My God, Our God, works in mysterious ways, and I have come to find that out in my many days. So i Hope you all have come to learn from me about the things you didnt know, and im sorry if it broke your heart that I had to go. So now this is my last say before I go on home to a new man by my side upon his throne, I love you all but I must go on on.

Eddie Rod.
