Now That Spring Has Arrived In Zhejiang Province Poem by Raymond Farrell

Now That Spring Has Arrived In Zhejiang Province

Now that Spring
Has arrived in Zhejiang province
Every day after dinner
I sit under the locust tree
In the small park
Near my residence
And listen
To the bird's sing
As dusk settles
I extract as much joy
As I can
Before their song is over
Once it is over
I sit to contemplate life
And as dusk turns to dark
Two small bats
Take to the air
To perform
A short routine
Of aerial acrobatics
When the street lights
Finally come on
The show ends
And I move indoors.
