Nutcracker Blues Poem by Ima Ryma

Nutcracker Blues

For Christmas my girlfriend did get
Tickets for Nutcracker ballet.
When I said no, she got upset,
So chose to let her have her way.
We got there a few minutes late.
The show had already begun.
Had to admit the seats were great,
As usher helping seating was done.
Not being a ballet fan, I
Looked 'round the theatre instead.
Right in front of me I did spy
A familiar back of a head.

I got real nervous suddenly.
My wife sat right in front of me.
