O Mahathi Poem by Mahathi Mydavolu

O Mahathi

O MAHATHI

O Narada Guru, O holy spirit
Where have you been O wanderer
Of Universe, O smiling sage of wit
And fun, come play your Mahathi and stir
Our hearts and halt the pessimists' demur.

Let melodic tunes make ecstatic
All living beings and let the vicious snakes
Forget their savage traits. Let burn the wicks
In temples' sanctum sanctorum. Let lakes
Deluge the brims and let oh dance the drake.

Let gather clouds in sky and show'r drops
Of nectar sweet. Let cuckoos learn new notes
And sing with sugery rapture and let hop
The rabbits quick and birds in yonder float.
The Vedic hymns with joy let brahmins quote.

I hear, the name of Narayana
In every note oh orchestrated by
The sound of holy Om. Narayana,
Narayana, how sweet that name and why
My eyes are spilling tears and lips turn dry? !

O Mahathi, your tunes are Vedic runes.
They're honey drips and pious ambrosia.
They're luscious croons of birds and God's boons.
To virtuous minds a sweet euphoria
And lo to ailing hearts panacea.

When listen to your tunes sweet, open wide
The gates of inner noesis and lead
To deeper cosmic spheres that slowly guides
To worlds, Where get from mundane bonds you freed
And sprouts the eternal life's blissful seed.

That's salvation O artless human beings.
Go deep and deep and deep into your heart.
Where hear you Narada saint tuning stings
Of Mahathi and Krishna's flute's fine art
And sounds of Siva's Damaruka smart.

Sri Narada is not a normal sage!
He's melded spirit of Lord Brahma, Shiva
and Lord Vishnu. His lovely tunes amaze
Oh even Kinnera and Gandharva
Clans as stays on the strings great Shakti Ma.

To Rishi Narmada prostrate and bow.
To Vina Mahathi prostrate and bow.
To Ma Saraswathi prostrate and bow.
To Creator Lord Brahma prostate and bow.
To Lord Narayanaya prostrate and bow.
To Master Shankara prostrate and bow.

Om Namo Naradaya
