Oaths Kept Or By Personal Convictions Broken? Poem by Terence George Craddock

Oaths Kept Or By Personal Convictions Broken?

Rating: 5.0

when pledged oath is sworn obedience given
is it sacrosanct inviolable or can oath be broken?
how can an oath given be honour broken?

will an oath of loyalty be broken by division religion?
will an oath of loyalty be broken by claimed independence?
will an oath of nationality be broken by cause emancipation?
civil rights voting rights right to freedom release from serfdom?

class betrayal by attempting to raise up the common people?
unholy notion to raise up common people against their betters?
is making poor lives of common people raised up better just?
has not dull arrogance of class elitism had its day its centuries?

is a king who betrays his people over religion worthy to be king?
is an oath to prince king emperor greater than divine fear of God?
does a king emperor inherit rule by divine right immutable?
