Obedience Or Disobedience? (That Is The Question?) - Poem by Luke Easter
Obedience is worth more than sacrifice,
Because you follow an order from above,
Whether the taste is sour or sweet,
It’s laid upon you with love
No one wants the bitterness,
Over flowing from their cup,
Remember what Jesus had to drink,
Before our heavenly Father called Him up.
Good Christians are suffering the world over,
If in a storm don’t forget you’re not alone,
Many face unfair trials and tribulations,
While freely the unjust and wicked happily roam.
Then again this is how God whips you into shape,
For the battle that has yet to be seen,
Don’t believe Satan when he says God doesn’t love you,
It’s not a case of the Father being mean.
The Creator has to know whom to sit on the bench,
And exactly who to call the A-team,
God will always have the final word,
Like Justices on the court, He reins Supreme.
When presented with a task don’t ask why,
Or give excuses to try and justify,
Don’t throw a tantrum followed with a sigh,
Never break down and begin cry.
When God has chosen you to be a solider,
Walk proudly; you’ve been made a recruit,
Like those selected in the army before you,
Surrender to His will and follow suit.
Being saved is only the beginning & certainly not the end,
Greater is an abundant life you will start living when?
Understanding God desires for you to have so much more,
But not long as you’re satisfied standing at salvation’s door.
Just because the promise land seems so far out of reach,
Doesn’t mean that it is a sin so you should no longer seek,
Don’t let failures of the unsuccessful fuel your disobedience,
God’s not asking you to climb a mountain just hop over the fence.
You would not have been given the assignment,
Had the Lord known this test you could not pass,
You’re about to be taken for the ride of your life,
Hold on tight and trust that it will not last.
