Occupy Marines Poem by Luke Easter

The call has gone out to create reality from the dreams,
Like waves of re-enforcements to silence their screams,
So just when all else falls to no hope or so it may seem,
The 1st responders of defense, "United States Marines."

Salem-News.Com was established by Tim & Bonnie King,
Journalists of the highest order & no left or right wing,
Honesty overlaid with justice, no matter what the cost,
United with, "Occupy Marines" hope is pulled from lost.

This new group is calling on non-active duty Marines,
To assist in the, "Occupy" movement but keep it clean,
It was formed online to support the Wall Street protest,
And when you need help it makes sense to send the best.

As videos circulated online of a New Your City episode,
Where police used questionable tactics it would explode,
The city of, "Twin Towers" this movement finds it hard,
Jar Heads can't defend injustice in their own back yard?

U.S.M.C. Sgt. Shamar Thomas charged an over reaction,
The city's finest dispersing protestors to their satisfaction,
"This is not a war zone… & the protestors were unarmed, "
A peaceful free speech movement why cause them harm?

If there was any kind of malice could not veterans of Iraq,
Defend themselves in a manner to force NYC Cops back?
Same for those who shed blood in the war of Afghanistan,
True however, peacefully these soldiers made their stand.

Both sides proudly wear the color green or blue uniform,
While violence from the latter in defense is not the norm,
Cops go home to reside in relatively safe neighborhoods,
Marines sleep in areas where many mean them no good.

Okay, "They don't have guns! It doesn't make any sense! "
And where is the honor in mounting this type of defense?
Thomas said they are hurting people he fought to protect,
Agreed, should not New York's finest show some respect?

What happens to people who burn the U.S. Flag? Not a thing!
Protestors that put lives on the line & the Calvary they bring?
All right, these Marines are safe at home so get involved why?
Ooh Rah! You'd have to understand the meaning of, "Semper-Fi."
