Oblivious Minds Poem by Lidia Anderson

Oblivious Minds

Rating: 5.0

Did you ever stop to think about it, have you ever taken the time,

to listen to what we call music, its poisoning our minds.

Dont you think its kind of odd that you remember every lyric,

from a song you havent heard for years, but you didnt need to hear it.

The verses roam around with you etched into your brain,

making you repeat the words until you go insane.

Songs also bring up memories as soon as we hear the music,

its another trick they came up with, and they know how to use it.

Advertising, t.v., and music are all they really need,

to lie to us and twist the truth, we are easy to mislead.

True, tv and advertising are made to manipulate. Not so the music. The least some of it. There is some that comes from the need of share unconditional, just the same with poems. With all due respect dear friend, it is not the music to poison our minds. I think it is not the sound of music bad, but the imposed image that comes with it... A great poem, good food for thought, thank you for share.
